My defroster / heater fan went out, so I decided to check the fuse.

Where the hell is it? :o

The back of the fuse box cover shows it to the right of the others.

that does not look like a stock fuse box

maybe look behind the dash further

I believe you have a later 80's ATO fuse cover on an early 80's glass fuse 60.
And I didn't even stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night.:D

Wow! Thanks a lot. That makes sense now!

I think the fuse box changed sometime in 1983. You most likely need to reset your circut breaker. It is located under the dash to the left of the steering column (Fuse Box side). It is round and about the diameter of a quarter with a small hole in it. push a paper clip into the hole and you should be good to go.

cool. i didnt know early 60s had glass fuses. im glad they changed it.

This is from the FSM for the early 60 series. The picture is pretty bad, but the circuit breaker must be near the hood release, probably somewhere below the fuse box.
early circuit breaker.webp

I have glass fuses on my '82 as well.

Does anyone know what the Power fuse is for? I have a '83 FJ60 and the Power fuse is missing and the slot is empty so I can't replace it either.
