For Sale: FJ55 trailer project
This is the back half of a 1973 FJ55 land cruiser. I began this project thinking I needed an off road trailer but have since decided I probably wouldn’t use it, don’t have the room for it and I’d rather focus my time and money finishing my restoration of my 69 FJ55.
The body: The 2nd row doors have been welded in. All of the body work was completed at level fitting for a coating of Monstaliner or Raptor liner (epoxy bedliner) If someone wanted to use regular automotive paints it will need some additional refining.
The top: It has a shortened FJ55 top. The top is narrower than the trailer and doesn’t work as well as I had hoped. If I was to keep I would probably toss the top and build a rack to hold a tent. Currently the top is connected to heavy duty greaseable hinges and has been coated with white Raptor liner.
Accessories:
7 gallon fresh water tank with fill port on the Driver’s side. Water pump in the tool box.
Fuel tank: Still has the original fuel tank and a fuel transfer pump in the tool box.
Tool box: Holds pumps, battery, switch panel and lighting. With additional room for storage.
OEM spare tire mount with spare tire included
Trailer wiring installed to make the OEM lights work
12 volt plugs in the trailer
Trailer inside is covered in plywood add coated with black bedliner
Hitch is heavy duty with 2” ball mount and safety chains
What it needs:
It will need new tires. The current tires has full tread but are dry rotted.
Currently has the OEM rear axle installed. Should probably get a real trailer axle installed with electric brakes
Could use some additional body work to the underside. No massive rust but there are some holes.
Rear door does not have a handle. I have a locking twist handle that could easily connect to the latch bars but I haven’t installed because I was hoping to find an actual FJ55 handle.
Can be used as a utility trailer as is.
This has been a fun project with countless hours in work and have probably spent more money on it than what I am asking. It pulls well and easy to back up.
$750 or best offer.
