Good call, thanks guys.

So is this a worth while upgrade? Despite the fact that they do crack?

Yes thay are. I had them (2nd gen) with the exhaust they offer, definite difference in performamce and the Hundy sounds pretty sweet.:grinpimp: The exhaust they offfer is bolt-on, so you can do the headers and exhaust yourself if you have :banana: skills. The exhaust does have a little “drone” at highway speeds due to no resonator on it, but it aint that bad.

I sold the 100 a while back, but I have not seen anything from the new owner that he has had any problems.

Definitely recommend the OEM manifold hasket and while you are in there, and be ready to replace some the manufold studs, you might as well replace them all while you are in there. I am planning on doing them on my LX when I get it out of storage.

Haven't heard of 2nd gen DT 2UZ-FE headers cracking. Thought mine were cracked but it turned out to be the crappy DT manifold gaskets they included. Ditto ^ throw the DT gaskets in the trash and use Toyota OEM exhaust manifold gaskets (reuse existing if not damaged ... A-OK) if you prefer to do the job once.

Also if you're in a CARB state know, despite what DT states on their website, they DO NOT HAVE A CARB CERTIFICATE for these headers.

But I admit, outside of CARB state(s), I'd rather buy DT headers than spend the same on new OEM Toyota units that are already crack prone. OTOH if your OEM units are ticking you could just pull them and lay TIG bead down for nearly labor only fix.

Well I'm glad to hear most are echoing the same sentiment. I have a set of DT headers sitting on the floor in our spare bedroom waiting to be installed, along with some OE gaskets and hardware.

However, I was surprised to see they weren't welded the full way around where the tube is inserted into the flange. Granted this is on the external and they are fully welded internally (obviously), so maybe this is normal... But with all the discussion about these cracking, I would have expected more welds. Maybe this is a sign that they've worked out the kinks.

Could you finish the welds? That does look more like a tack weld than a nice bead.

Getting ready to order a set, do the headers bolt onto the existing pipes or am I better off ordering the full exhaust. My truck has gotten progressively slower, and this seems to be the best way to get some of those lost horses.
Any reports of cel lights?

That's a pretty thick flange.....that should cure/reduce warping
