2015 LX570: The driver's side door handle is the only one that will not unlock the doors. All of the other handles will unlock the doors when a hand is placed between the handle and the door (and the key fob is nearby). Just today, I put a new battery in the fob and it did not resolve the issue. Could something be wrong with the sensor on that driver's door handle or perhaps is it something I can resolve in the vehicle's settings? Thanks in advance.

If you don't have techstream yet, now's the time. I know you can test each part of the access system individually with it. Including the proximity sensors. I know there are settings that affect which doors unlock when you touch the handle but I don't think there is any option that leaves the driver's door out of the mix, so it sounds like you have an issue.

My first guess would be either the proximity near that door, or the handle sensor on the door. You could pretty quickly test the proximity by locking the car and walking near the drivers door (without getting near the others) and see if the puddle lights come on.

From the manual:
As long as the electronic key is within the effective range, the doors may be locked or unlocked by anyone.

So you could also have someone hold the key near another door and then touch the driver door.

I feel your pain with it not working. This is one of my favorite features of modern cars....I feel like such a troglodyte having to get keys out of my pocket to use a car when I'm not driving the LX.

I did some initial research on techstream. What is the cheapest way to acquire this solution? Sadly, I'm a Mac guy, so I believe this would force me to purchase a Windows device?

Maybe start with this thread and see what you can find? I also use only Mac, so someday I’ll have to pursue this too.

That’s the place. Someone has created a VM that has a windows XP image with everything preloaded. All that is free, then you need the MVCI cable. I have a cheap eBay one I bout 10 yrs ago. If I was buying one today I’d go the VxDiag route. They may have Mac options. I’m not a mac user, so not much help on that front.

Techstream itself can be downloaded. Look around on the usual sources.

You'll then need a cable to go in between your laptop and the OBD2 port. Not all cables are the same, and some have limitations. VXDiag is supposed to be the best option; I'm still waiting to receive mine. The popular MVCI cable (which I already have) cannot program TPMS sensor values into the car.

You can dual-boot Windows and OSX. Use the official Bootcamp (Boot Camp - Official Apple Support - https://support.apple.com/boot-camp) tooling to set it up; it's easy. I've got Windows on my 2018 Macbook (alongside normal OSX) specifically for Techstream purposes.

I had the same issue and it was the lock actuator in the driver side door. All the other doors would unlock with the sensor except the driver side.

I also use Techstream from a macbook, either boot camp or from a VM.
