I'm getting tired of staring at my s***ty roof drip molding. The edge is worn through the black molding and the exposed metal is an eyesore. Besides tearing it off and going commando, since it provides no purpose other than aesthetics (as far as I know), what have you Mudders done to alleviate this? New ones cost $75+ a piece and the shipping is more than the cost of the product due the length of the item. I'm considering tearing it off and putting a few coats of bedliner. If anybody has used bedliner or some other method feel free to post a photo. Thanks!

Most people and/or carwashes tear them off and throw them away.

I don't have them on mine and I don't miss them.

The shipping is not an issue if you order them at your local dealer. I think I paid $65.

I've compared numerous times and the stealership is at least 100% mark-up from Toyota Parts Deal. Furthermore the dealership has them shipped as well, maybe at a better rate. I'm going to call and report back....for science.

Lose 'em. I might still have mine hanging in the rafters for some reason.

Well in this case @MoJ, the dealership is coming in at $107 which is cheaper than toyotapartsdeal.com (a first). However, there is only four of the them left in the world! None in the US. Most likely they are sitting in Toyotas warehouse in Asia.

If your dealer says there’s none available then any of the other parts sites won’t be able to get them either. The site will accept your order and then later cancel due to nla. Glad I got a fresh set last year.

I tool mine off and painted the area semi gloss black! Looks good.

I took mine off, dechromed the back and side rear windows. Next, I am going to reseal the drip edge seam and paint the roof with an insulating white color. Gonna look so 80's!!
