Another option for you....this is a custom tank that was made for an FJ45LV. I don't think I am going to use it.

I used a Holley dragster fuel pump to pump fuel from
the main tank into my LV tank mounted under the
bed (where the spare mounts on the long bed).
Using 2 check valves and wiring the pump with a
DPDT switch, you are able to reverse the pump and
either fill the sub tank from the main tank or pump back
into the main tank from the sub tank!

That's a great idea! How big (volume) is an LV tank?

Did you ever sell you pick-up?

The oem tank is only 14 gal, with mine the filling hose is not made to handle the volume of gas pumps today, does anyone know of a good primer on all the bits and pieces that comprise a gas tank?
I mean filler hoses, proper venting, electric sending units, anti-sloshing designs stuff like that. I have an idea what they all are and do, I just don't know where to put them in an aftermarket set-up created from scratch.

If you guys get me some info I can create cad files for design suggestions and put them up in an image format. Because this does seem to be an issue with almost all cruisers.

Any takers?
