Does this kit allow you to make two "separate" drawers, so you can choose whether you want one or both in as needed? How many sheets of plywood does it take? Any special tools needed to build it, besides circular saw/table saw/drill/jigsaw?

Great questions. Yes this system includes all that is needed to make a full two drawer system. If you are interested in ordering the hardware for a half (1 drawer) drawer system that can be aranged.

It takes 1 and 1/4 sheets of 3/4" plywood, and 1 sheet of 1/2".

The only tools needed are skill saw, drill, jigsaw. A table saw is nice but you could do without.

Thanks for your answers, this looks like a great option, definitely got me thinkin'...
