G'day all this is my first time on this forum so take it easy on me,After reading a few forums about blown front diffs on the ifs models like i have recently experienced myself.I was wondering if any of you have had any auto trans problems with the 5 speed tranny.5000 km since the diff issue the tranny started flarring between 4&5 gears very harshly,After taking it to toyota while problem solving they lost reverse.They have removed and stripped the box and found a clutch pack has destroyed its self and the box is a right off.Toyota Australia have told me this is the first off this model they have seen do this and were reluctant to warrant it.The vehicle has only done 32000km and has had no harsh treatment So any feed back would be much apprecative,Look forward to your replies

First I have ever heard of that kind of problem with a Toyota tranny from any model.

It would seem they would jump on it to fix it. Must have been a fluke in the tranny when built.

They will warranty it.

It is highly unusual. I have had many Toyotas and haven't had any transmission problems, manual or automatic.

Try giving Rodney a call at Wholesale automatic transmissions in Bayswater area of Victoria, he is a member on www.lcool.org and knows toyota trannies inside out and backwards.

HE may be able to give you some worthwhile info etc.
