Apologizing in advance, I haven't found anything but know what I am looking for is out there. I have a 01 LX with the non Nav system, what are some nicer looking double din stereo upgrades? I am not into the light up, more ricer looking stereos. Feel free to refer a link to an already answered/similar post. Thanks

Go on crutchfield and take your pick, the best ones that are most sought after are the double dins which include wireless android auto and apple carplay.

Not sure how a double din can look ricer maybe you are thinking those loud flashy single dins with bright blue or red lights for all the buttons and screens.

That is exactly what I was talking about.

Don't forget to get the correct Metra harness if your going to keep the ML amp and speakers.

If you find one that isn't "ricer," please post an update.

It seems almost all of them have that built in.

When I get sick of it I just turn off the screen on my Pioneer deck.

The only ones I've seen that aren't ricer look like the expensive Hi-Res units from companies like Sony, etc.

I'm running the Pioneer AVH-4200NEX. It seems to be nice for me. It has the ability to change the colors of the buttons. So naturally they are green. Other than that it's just a big screen. Not much can be Ricer about that.

I recently completed this swap on my 01 lx. What factory system do you have? I had a pioneer unit and amp. I did the amp bypass here is the result. It’s a dual brand nav unit with Bluetooth. 150$ on Amazon and it comes with wiring harness so you don’t have to buy anything else’s if you bypass the factory.

Hi, what's the name of this unit and do you like it so far?

It’s a Dual DVN 927BT.

Yes, I like the unit. It pairs easily to the phone. You have to download an app to stream music but that’s it. You can charge via the usb at the front. More importantly, it has the antenna power wire at the harness so you can still use the factory antenna as well.

Also if you go this route, I was able to reuse the mounting brackets from the factory 6 disc on the new headunit. I found the black plastic trim piece on eBay for 20$, don’t waste your $$ on the kits w/brackets.

I recently upgraded to pioneer avh-2330nex. It was on sale on best buy for $300.
Previously had replaced the original nakamichi for an android head unit I got on ebay, that lasted 6 months and crapped out, now even the seller dissapeared from ebay.
I'm pretty happy with my pioneer now, great sound even with factory speakers, I bypassed the amp. Also great visibility, even with polarized sunglasses, that was an issue on my previous unit.
I'm kinda dissapointed with android auto though, in lieu of security the functioanlity is very limited, so I now stream music thru bluetooth instead, at least I can choose what to play.

Im a noobie with this kind of stuff, but this is compatible with the ML system right? Currently I have a semi working stereo- everything works except the volume button. I found on club lexus this is a problem with the amp so I have a list of things to do in order to get a new system going again.
