from what i understand it is NOT required to cut the hard lines....I am all about saving time and dont want them so taking the easier route. My buddy is wanting to check the pump and something else for his shop as spare parts....and another guy wants the actuators if they are any good still. Not sure much need for hard lines unless you may return it to your rig at later date. My experience is that other than 3rd row seats.....these trucks rarely if ever get de-modified. I think I have read of one person out of thousands in the past 20 years.
 
Cutting lines saves a bunch of time from what I know. You won't return to AHC if you remove the lift...there's no reason to
 
I have not done mine yet but if you are good with searches on this site someone here did the switch and removed all the hardware because the lx was being shipped to africa and he did not want to confuse anyone over there for future maintenance. there is also someone on this site that has done the whole switch in his drive way by himself so it is possible. as for that price that cant be right or something is missing; slee's is like 1800.
 
forgot to add this i remeber asking about the removing the ahc equipement and he stated it was because of maintenaince issue for future not for any weight savings etc. If your lady friend lx is out of warranty anyway wh not just leave the system in place?
 
One good thing about removing everything....

1. can use the LC rock sliders with 3 support rails versus only 2 supports.

2. have room for a 2nd battery under hood where hydraulic fluid resevoir was previously

3. reduce a little weight...every bit helps when you get front and rear bumpers, sliders, skid plates and then add storage drawers to rear and start filling. You can quickly max out the load capacity without any passengers or gear. :)

4. No more wondering IF IT WILL FAIL! :)
 
I actually have een both of those tbreads you mentioned and now thatnits getting closer to go time I cant formthe life of me find them. I should probably get a fsm before i do it but i have a hard time understanding those diagrams so pics woukd def help
 
Correct. Slee makes the diff drop specifically for the 100 series to protect the CVs from extreme angle. I would not recommend getting an OME lift setup (or even cranking your t-bars to full lift height) without the Slee front diff drop.

I was just pointing out how it's not so crazy for OME to cost 750 without Slee Diff Drops. To compare apples to apples on OME kit price, one should probably subtract out the cost of the diff drop.

Based on just the posts here, lifting a 100 seems to lead to the CV boot leaks without the diff drop.

Yeah i met a guy the other day who had just ordered the slee drop because he had been running 35" with the slee ahc override in hi for months and we looked at his cvs and there was grease EVERYWHERE. From what i understand the factory cvs are still the toughest ones you can get since rcv apparently quit after coming up an inch short on the cvs they built for spresso to try out...that whole deal was shady as s*** and poor business if ive ever seen it... But even as tough as the toyota ones are its not good for them.

1100 for a full suspension setup isnt bad in my book, id probably go for fox at least up front. I havent compared them to n74l for the rear. Anybody...?
