This doesn't seem right that there is such a gap in the door......collecting water. Is there a piece of trim to cover?

There is a rubber with metal trim piece that goes there.
Kind of looks like you have the remnants of the metal trim piece that attaches to the door without the rubber.

Edit to add: there is also a felt piece on the inside glass attached to the door.

thanks, I bought the interior piece already.......thought i bought the exterior one as well but it came just the metal, not the rubber
