Front Door Hinge Rebuild Question (1 Viewer)

Continuing to dig into different areas and now on to hinges. After fighting with the first hinge for an hour pounding out the pin I discovered this metal sleeve inside the door part of the hinge. See the photos for better visual explanation. The first pic is the body part of the hinge and has no sleeves in it. It makes the pin super tight to try and reinsert (and equally difficult to remove). Looking at as many threads/pics/etc that I can I'm assuming this isn't stock and was maybe added in at some point? Haven't tried removing it as of yet. Goal on this is to allow more easy removal of pins going forward when doors come off in the summer. Those with some hinge rebuild experience, thoughts?

If I remember right I took a 30-30 cartridge and cut it down to fit and it worked perfect.

If you are not already familiar with these stainless steel hinges and oil impregnated bronze bushings, you may want to consider them. @SMG makes a very good product and is an excellent vendor to work with.

Stock hinges have plastic top hat looking bushings that fit in either side of the door side of the hinge. You can get aftermarket bronze bushings. I have the SMG pins/bushings that are very high quality and make hinge disassembly easy. It looks like someone may have made their own sleeve at some point for your hinge. It tightens up the hinge but does not provide any bearing between the two halves of the hinge like the top hat bushings.
