It has a plastic tab on one side and a metal clip on the other. The tab is part of the housing and is intact, the clip is in place. I am pretty sure if I bought a new one it would look just like this one.

I'll know tomorrow I guess, because I have PFRAN's LEDs to put in and can compare.

Thought maybe this might be a common failure. I believe it involves the doorskin in some fashion.

If I remember right, the metal tab can be bent back into shape to allow it to hold the door correctly. It's the metal clip side that really holds the lens in. If that side of the door panel is broken, just gorilla glue a piece of a popsicle stick back there to allow that metal tab to have something to catch on.

I had the same issue. I had to remove the lens from the fixture then push the fixture into the door then replace the lens. It won't fully clip in with the lens attached.

Thanx! I'll look into that. The thing is that the door edge looks and feels intact which is why I'm having trouble figuring it out. The clip looks good as well.

This was the post I was waitin' fer!

In mine only the lens falls of.
Haven't looked at it, but this post reminds of it.

Installed pran's led's and fixed with clear silicone. No problems since.
