wonder how that would look cut the top off the door and some of the bottoms hhhmmmm. if you did it right that could look pretty cool:grinpimp:

those must be some stout scissors! where can i get a pair:D figure out what you want to do i got some plasma cutters that would cut that stuff a lil faster also got some tube an some other stuff laying around:grinpimp:

the doors are later model, so they do not fit in the opening on my cruiser - some cutting or creative "remodeling" will have to be done ;p

as I said, I will have to measure and draw up different designs....

thanks again to Josh for the doors

as I was driving home with them, I smelled a funny smell and was thinking to myself "great, now I have this smell in my garage " - turns out, there are a couple of horse ranches out there  nothing smelly on the doors, thank god :D

ive toyed with the idea of making tube doors , my problem is im such a lil feller that i thought they would be in my way. though i could flare them out some i dont know if i need a rock feeler that high up :p . oh im sure we could find some bar stock in my shop to make hinges for tube doors. is there a style you want to copy ?

I always thought that later model doors would fit earlier Cruisers. I planned on picking up a set of the later style for a while, still looking casually. I thought you'd just need a "striker conversion kit".

I was looking for hinges and door handles - the doors came attached

the early and late model doors use different locking/striking mechanisms

I bought some paddle type 1/2 doors from sor and made them fit by turning the frame striker around backwards. When the hard doors go on, I just reverse them. Make sense??

If you want, I can take some pics if you think it might apply to your rig.

yeah, pics are always good :D

Sorry it took so long to get back with these, I've been stuck in the cab of a truck for two and a half days.

I realized I have tow sets of strikers, both early style, one just modified to fit the paddle style latches. Seems the paddle latches are recessed into the door and have less clearance from the weatherstriping to the striker. 3rd pic is the 1/2 door along side of the hard door to compare.

I would think, if one was to make tube doors, one could fab up a striker to fit the paddle style latches. SOR even sells them in black or stainless.

Just a thought..
