Yeah, so, that blindspot finally got me. I was backing into a parking spot (or so I thought) and backed into a landscaping island with a tree about 6 inches in diameter in it. Smashed the taillight (stupid bubbly thing) and pushed the metal in about 1/2 inch all around it. Also screwed up the bumper cover (which I don't care that much about since I'll put a metal one on there soon anyway).

So after kicking myself in the a$$ for a while for causing my own "urban trail carnage," I had an estimate done. $1780. OUCH. Most of it is body work and paint supplies and labor.

Going to go sulk now...and duct tape the remainder of my taillight on.

Ouch.

At work(Fedex) we have posters all over that say AVOID BACKING.
I usually ignore this kind of stuff posted at the office. Since I got the FJC
I live by it.

ouch!...make my blow fusr fiasco seem minor.

are you sure it wasnt my wife driving? looks like several of here mishaps

where did you get the fj sticker from?

owwie - at least the tree that attacked my fender was on trail. The reverse sensors work real well, I've gotten very used to turning them on when I back up...they work on shrubbery as well as solid objects.

It looks like a "WENZOR" sticker to me.

Hey now, no woman driver comments! :)

oh bummer Heather! :(
I was going to suggest the paintless dent repair but I see the paint is cracked as well... :(
nice duct tape patch :grinpimp: and hope you are back 100% soon

maybe those taillights need a bit of redesigning... deflate that mold by 50% ;) (you did it the hard way tho!)

nows the time to hack those tailights off and put some in that don't project beyond the body
