Oh, and look up that printout on the internet that has a picture of about 15 different breeds of purebred dogs and asks you to identify the pitbull. No one ever gets it right on the first try.

I got it on the 4th try, and I've watched some dog shows on the teli.

Ready this: Labs attack more people and Dobermans and Pits and Rotts are the winners by a long, long, long, long shot.

i question a statistical review that jams rottwielers in with pitbulls when there is 2.5x difference in total attacks. thats not on the same curve unless there are 2.5x as many pitts out there, and i doubt that.

the sheet is useless w/o population totals.

use groups will skew the curve. GS's, dobs and rots are TRAINED for personal protection. that WILL skew a curve. as far as i know, no one is training pitts as guard dogs.

the sheet relys on voluntary reports. who turns bengie in? i myself had 2 GS's 1 rot and 3 dobs om my paper route as a kid. the only dogs that got me were a black lab, a little fxxxing poodle and a cat. the cat hurt the worst. it was a banzai attack out of the living room window on my head. i hate pittcats.

dont get a hound. hounds arnt like working dogs. training a hound to do anything but use its nose is a fruitless endeavor. its like trying to train a 15yo boy not to look at boobies.

Ugh. Thread hijack.

I really think its funny though how paranoid most of you are about Pits and Rotts.

They are actually some of the best, most family friendly dogs out there, but how should I know, my dad only had about 20 dogs and worked for a vet for five years, not to mention my own experience.

Most of the attacks that you guys are citing lack the true background to show them for what they really are. A prime example of this is one of our family friends had a Dobermann, it was about a year old and still hadn't healed from the ear clipping surgery that most endure.

So one day they had one of their friends over and their little kids of course, so they were all in the back yard and one of the kids grabs the Dobermann's ears. What do you think would happen next? The dog, as any of YOU would do, fought back and bit the kid.

The dog had to be put down, but this was 100% the fault of the parents and the kids.

Now to find the place where I can lock/delete this thread :l

I thought you were a tough guy, Puddy. Don't go crying to a mod over this.

read what you wrote....

first you want a dog that will attack and then you say that PB's are friendly and misunderstood.

you already sound like an irresponsible dog owner and you dont even own a dog. The last thing i want to read is your dog killing a child b/c you are irresponsible

There are no children near where I live. I don't plan on getting married or having a child even in my house for another 10 years.

Its the responsibility of the parents and the dog's owner. My daughter was bit on the face by a Golden retriever. I should have been watching her better and the owners should have been keeping an eye on the dog....all dogs can and will bite. Take responsibility and there will be no issues.

you are dumb.....and dumb people should not own a pit bull. how can you read all of the statics and say what you just said...

Noah...open your mind just a bit! all dogs come from wolfs..big and small..All dogs can bite.... not just one breed. The issue with some breeds is they are very loyal....teach a dog to attack and they will.

so you plan on leaving the dog locked up in your house and not walking it or letting it outside.

you clearly have no idea what you are getting into.

There's a reason people don't keep cats bigger than a house cat. Can you imagine the carnage a pit bull sized cat would create?

This man can.
