so you plan on leaving the dog locked up in your house and not walking it or letting it outside.

you clearly have no idea what you are getting into.

Whatever man, you don't even know what you're talking about.

Its the responsibility of the parents and the dog's owner. My daughter was bit on the face by a Golden retriever. I should have been watching her better and the owners should have been keeping an eye on the dog....all dogs can and will bite. Take responsibility and there will be no issues.

Noah...open your mind just a bit! all dogs come from wolfs..big and small..All dogs can bite.... not just one breed. The issue with some breeds is they are very loyal....teach a dog to attack and they will.

another pair of great statements.....

your daughter was bitten by a golden - if it had been a pit she would have been mauled or killed..........that is the difference.

with this topic my mind is closed and there is no convincing me other wise. As i have said, i have met some nice pits, but i dont trust them and no one should

You're 20 years old. You have no idea who/where you will be in 10 years. I've been there, done that. My Rott was awesome, but it makes it a s***load harder to find a place to live next time you are looking. The only thing worse than having an "aggressive" dog is trying to find a new home for that aggressive dog when you realize that you won't be able to keep it.

I am a bit worried also....do you know how much it cost in first three years. Spay or nuture...puppy shots...if they get sick... Must socialize but only after you have walked the dog....Must neuter your dog or it WILL become aggressive or frustrated. Training is a full time thing.... 4 years out. Never say get it or attack.....Its like having a kid. I take my puppy to work with me because he has blood sugar issues...you never know what will or could happen with the health of the dog...HUGE amount of responsibility!!! I have put out over the last 6 years owning my two dogs well over 5K...thats not including the repairs to my hardware floors, carpet, kitchen table, lazy boy recliner. Lenolium....on and on

true all dogs will bite but when a pit bites it is fxxxing over...there lies the problem....

if youre going to insist on an attack dog, drop a few thousand and get it trained right. at least it will let go when told. (that excludes pitts, methinks)

Sorry, that puppy is WAY too cute! :D Definitely not telling me I'm gonna get it...unless "it" is kisses. Is that your dog? I love it! :)

Not true.....Thats just what you have heard.

Can you point us to some things that YOU have heard then?

Show us the fatalities per breed. (We all pretty much have seen this before - you apparently have not)

A prime example of this is one of our family friends had a Dobermann, it was about a year old and still hadn't healed from the ear clipping surgery that most endure.

So one day they had one of their friends over and their little kids of course, so they were all in the back yard and one of the kids grabs the Dobermann's ears. What do you think would happen next? The dog, as any of YOU would do, fought back and bit the kid.

The dog had to be put down, but this was 100% the fault of the parents and the kids.

There are problems with this post.

A Doberman should have its ears done around 12 weeks of age. They should be healed by 16 weeks or so.

So, a) you either have your facts wrong and therefore, everything that you say lacks substance, or b) the owners of said Doberman were irresponsible and ignorant and I would not be surprised if the dog bit someone because of it.

You decide.

He is so cute! :) I want another dog, but the one I have is a bit of a handful already. So I'm being good and not getting another. My boyfriend has 2 dogs, too, and that's a lot of dogs all at his house when we are over!

the meanest dog I ever met was a Chihuahua, I was actually afraid of this thing he had the crazy eye.

lol.. the property I surveyed today had a blind Chihuahua looking dog tied on a dog run. That thing tried to bite me about 10 times. I had snake boots on so no harm no foul.

Yeah chihuahuas can bring the pain...my mom has one that looks like it is scared--shaking all the time n chit but that thing is vicious.
