Has anyone use this product? If so, do you have a review on it?

Trail D-Vise - a portable vise for use anywhere

Honestly it looks like a crap vise because the static and dynamic jaws do not have enough metal for long term use. Plus it doesn't look like it uses inserts on the jaws. They did get some things right on it, like encasing the screw and making it open to 8".

If people use a homemade setup, please post pics.

I've got one (actually it stays in my wife's truck) and it is cool as hell. I used it on the Rubicon to re-bend some mangled brackets. It was damn handy to have.

I like the concept, but think I can do better:hillbilly:. on close inspection, there are no inserts, just scuffed up blocks welded to the pressure blocks. it is consumer grade for people who don't like to get very mechanical-hey, what for would that guy need a vice, then?

No pictures, but I have a tab welded to the ARB on my nissan in Australia. I then have a conventional 4" vise with a base that allows it to screw to the welded tab.

Puts the vise at a useful height and allows a lot of access around it depending on what you're beating/bending/drilling etc.

cheers,
george.
