Anyone ever put a dodge small block into a FJ60? I checked my advanced adapters catolog and did not see anything but my copy is a few years old.

I know this is an uncommon conversion but I have a TBI 318 in a 1994 RAM 1500 sitting around. Engine is strong, Trans is gone. Just looking for the cheapest way to get my 60 back to DD status without braking the bank. My 2F is shot in 2 cyclinders.

I don't think that a conversion is the cheapest way to go. Especially if you're not going to go with a Chev motor. From what I understand, it's a real pain. Worse if you've never done one before. You'll have to rework the alt, wiring (especailly if you've got computer controll equip for that 318) cooling system, motor mounts, may have to make drive shaft adjustments...the only thing I think that I'd convert mine to, if I was going to go through the hassel, would be to some sort of diesel.

If I were in your shoes, I'd look for a decent used 2F as a replacement, or rebuild what you've got. If you've lost two cly, you'll also have other related issues you're going to want to track down (say, if it's a cooling problem) and will only get worse if you drop in a V8.

318 is a damn good motor though...

Do a 350. That's what everybody else has done. All the BS is out there for it.
