I’m wanting to put a mild lift on the 80 (new springs and shocks) and decided to go with Dobinsons. My question is, will using spacers with the stock height replacement springs compromise handling? Should I just go for the next step up and get the 1.75 inch lift? The reason I ask is because I think 1 inch would be perfect with some 33’s, but I haven’t seen any springs that can give me only a 1 inch lift. Thanks!

You will be fine with spacers on top of stock height replacement springs. I bet you will end up with about 1.5-2” lift over what you have now.

Did you end up doing this setup? if so how'd it go? If not, what did you end up doing or not doing?

If anyone is curious about looks I went from the original springs to dobinson stock height + 30 mm spacers front and back. But now I'm heavily tempted to jump up to 35's some time next year soo...

I ordered the same. 1.75-2" kit. Not sure when its coming. Couldn't pass up the sale.

That stock restoration kit with the spacers looks good tho!

I ordered the same kit with the front C59-220V and rear C59-223V and yellow shocks...I inquired why the rears are 1.75" and the front 2" and why they aren't both the same...that's just the way they made them was the answer ;-)

Where did you order from? I ordered the linear springs and if I'm not mistaken the reasons they list the range of 1.75-2" is due to weight of the truck and any installed accessories, if you look on the dobinsons website it shows different lift heights you might achieve with a range of weights. I ordered the C59-166/C59-169 with the standard yellow twin tube shocks. I was going to go MMR shocks but I just bought some wheels so I couldn't fork out the extra dough right now, maybe down the road if I don't feel these shocks are up to task.

Does anyone have a pic of 35's on either of these options? Curious to see how they sit. I've only found pics of 33's

Got mine from exitoffroad. There's so many choices and a bit confusing as well. I wanted to make sure mine were variable rate springs and I don't have a whole lot of added weight (a build sleeping platform, storage and a slider with a CFX50 fridge.) I don't have added armor and it's the stock bumper. I didn't want a harsh ride either as it's my daily. Check with what you got because yours might not be progressive. If that matters.

Those were 285's in that pic and that was with the dobinson stock height springs with 30mm spacers front and rear. The first pic is with oem springs before I replaced them
