I just picked up a 2013 lx570 and want to purchase a rear drawer system. The dobinson's seem to be the best price 1300.00 (they are local, so no shipping charges), but I can't seem to find any recent reviews on them. Any owners out there willing to share thoughts? Any of off the shelf options other than frontrunner, arb, trekboxx, perhaps the REEF drawers.....for the 200 series.

I've seen a few threads covering this subject. I don't have experience with either, but i do hear good things about the Dobinson option. Landshark Outfitters is another option to check out. He's releasing his MK11 drawers soon, and they have a cool modular configuration option configuration. Anyways, here are some links:

I have Dobinson's drawers in my FJ60 and have been very pleased with them. Fairly simple, but strong drawer design. I've used them on several trips already. I would purchase them again for my FJ60....

That being said - I have every intent on installing a @TrekboxX system in my 200Lx (soon). But I'd say you have to decide if you are willing to pay up for the @TrekboxX system.

Dobinson's have strong bang for the buck factor if that's what you're after.

Loving it so far! New AT tires coming Monday. Considering a prinsu rack or eezi awn half rack or load bars. Thoughts?

I almost went the A/T route, but decided I wanted a slightly more aggressive tire so I went the R/T (hybrid) route and have been very pleased thus far.

I'm holding out for @benc at Dissent to get his new shop up and going in CA. I love his armor and roof rack designs for the Lx.

Have the Dobinson's in my 200. The are well made and function well. The instructions say they should take 3 hours to install. It took me three days. They do take up a lot of room.

Why did it take 3 days? That concerns me -
When I did mine I started my install after lunch and was done before dinner, but I had some help from a friend. It won't take most people three days. At the least you'll need some help moving the case into position between the wheel wells if you want to avoid scratching up the interior. It's three solid hour, most of it is figuring out the combinations and placement of spacers to bolt the bottom cross members to the floor. Nothing complicated, just a large number of steps. I'd buy and install another set if something happened to mine. I like them a lot.

Just curious, do you think you could remove and put everything back to stock? I am trying to avoid any permanent. Thanks

My FJ60 Dobinsons drawers are a relatively permanent fixture. @KenB Might have a better answer for the 200.

I've had Dobinson drawers in my 80 for two years. Pretty sure they are all the same except the wing kits to fit different vehicles. They are nice. The fridge slide latch could be better. If you look into it, they are really Chinese drawers sold by several companies at a pretty good markup. If I recall you could get a set of 10 kits for $200-400 each straight from China.

You could, at least on mine. It would require almost a full disassembly though. Not something you would want to do often.

the goose gear, although more expensive looks a little easier. I want something that I can remove if and when I sell the car and bring it back to stock form. Thanks

I meant to say 2 days. Sorry. Nothing complicated, just lots of little Allen screws and had a hard time with the LX power seats.

I’ve got the Dobinsons drawers in my 200. Really like them. I’ve got the ARB drawers in my 100 series and don’t think the difference in price is worth it. Especially if you can go down to Doral and pick them up. Only reason to go ARB would be if you want to configure the drawer setup different. Dobinsons come as 1 piece with fridge slide on driver side. No other configuration options. Install takes a few hours but most of it is just figuring everything out. I think that’s pretty standard for any drawer system.

I just installed the Dobinsons a few weeks ago. They seems to be the easiest to install of the major options. They are well built and I do not believe there is any quality difference between Dobinsons and ARB drawers. ARB has more options, but if the Dobinsons configuration is to your liking, then they are a better value and easier to install. Having just installed them, it would probably take me 2-3 hours to remove them, reinstall the 3rd row seatbelts, and remount the 3rd row seats back to stock.

Good to know and thanks for the feedback. I am debating this or just making a baseplate out of birch and getting a fridge slide and just use some pelican cases......

If I remove the third row, without these type of drawers, you have that piece of moulding missing from the seats that doesnt look good.
