I'm buying a LX450 in Houston tomorrow and then I'm going to drive it back to Kansas City.
So I figured I would pour a can of Toyota Injector/Fuel System Cleaner few times while filling her up.
As far as I remember the cleaner should not be kept in the fueal system for more than a week at a time,
so the trip would be perfect to have this done.

Anyway, I'm new to 1FZE engine and wanted to ask what do you use for injector/fuel system cleaner - Toyota or not?

Why no more than a week?

I use Techron every time a change the oil.

Redline is the ticket. Got rid of a O2 sensor code that used to show up on a regular basis. I treated w/ one full bottle and going forward have added reccomended amount at fillups. No more O2 codes for the last 6 months or so.

I've just started using the BG 44K as I've heard very good stuff about the various products. However they are only available at dealerships or to shops, so I got mine on ebay.

I just called Northside Lexus and Fred Haas Toyota on I-45 and neither one sells BG-44K. I'll make a couple other calls over lunch to see if there is some available on I-45 convenient to the dealer.

The Redline is also really good stuff. For day-in day-out use, I also use Fuel Power 60 (once ounce per 5 gallons) to keep things clean...once the BG-44K and Redline have done their thing.

Found some BG-44K.

Land Rover North has it in stock. They are 1.1 miles north of the Lexus dealer, on the same side of I-45 as Northside Lexus.

Do a Yahoo! map from 17925 I-45 North to 18205 I-45 North if you want to see how to get there without getting on or crossing the freeway. Otherwise, just get on 45 North and go up until you see the Rover dealer.

As far as I remember from description on the can, you pour it into an emptish fuel tank,
fill it up with gasoline, and use that mix all up within a week.
I think the Toyota product is not your "day-to-day" additive.
It's a strong thing to be used from time to time.
I used it before on my 4Runner, as a preventive thing, once a year - after winter.
I can't comment on it's performance as engine in my 4Runner is relatively "young"
and I had no problems with it so far.
... hence my poll.

Tim, you are a GOOOOOD MAN.
Thank you!

If you are near a Yamaha Dealer I'd recommend some "Yamaha RingFree" it is what I use in my engines. It is specially modified Techron based agent for busting carbon free.

I use Seafoam to clean out carbon and Toyota EFI to clean the injectors.

Once in a while I will use BG44k.

I have great results with Seafoam, dump it on the carb or through the efi system and let the smoke rise:cool:

I have heard good things about the Redline.

However that being said I have always used BG44K.

Ditto!

I've also heard that the Toyota product is so strong it can actually attack the inside of the fuel lines which is why you want to run the stuff through as fast as possible!?!

Anyways, BG 44K is THE STUFF!

HTH.
