My wife got a 25 Sequoia this year after a lot of going back and forth and heartburn (concern for engine/ QC issues at Toyota). 10K miles so far and my wife loves it.
I can say (so far) that I don't know why we waited so long to upgrade. Since you asked about the engine I'll stay on topic but it's truly an impressive machine. Unbelievable power (have only ever owned Toyotas, newest being a 2006 LC), great towing power, and what I would call decent gas mileage for what it is.
The hybrid is what I want a hybrid to be - extra power. In Eco mode the gas mileage increase is marginal, maybe 2 MPG difference with gentle driving. Normal mode returns about 18-19 MPG with general driving. Sport mode is just crazy, I still cant believe a big heavy SUV can go like that but honestly we baby the car.
Having said that I've been in the market research phase to replace my LC for well over a year and I've gone from searching between late MY 200/ LX's as well as Tundra's to taking delivery of a 2026 TRD Pro next week.
I like white on a Tundra, but because the right one came up with the TRD Performance Package I'll be rolling in a Black one. Went back and forth for a little bit but after driving underpowered Cruisers and other yotas over the years and having the option to go full tilt on this thing I figured why not.
