My wife has the GX. We bought it used a few years ago and the first thing I noticed were the amount of paint chips on the hood and grille area. In the last couple years they seem to have dubblled. Is she following gravel trucks down the highway, or are these trucks prone to road debris?
If it's blizzard pearl white, this is a common problem - paint issue from factory. Then, if it is the white and yours is 2008 or newer, eventually Lexus will remedy it. If 2007 or older, like me you're SOL.

Rock chips everywhere. My paint is terrible all over though. I suspect it's brittle paint. It doesn't seem to just scratch like other cars I've owned. It seems to chip.
I ended up doing a vinyl wrap after getting tired of looking at it.
I bought it with the intentions of offroading in it though so I don't really care about the paint. If i had nice paint and washed and waxed and took pride in it's appearance, I'd be pissed off.
They have a campaign going on for 2008 - newer Toyota and Lexus vehicles that were painted blizzard white pearl and super white. You should get a preliminary letter, then a 2nd letter some time later explaining how to get it fixed.
Explain how a vehicle becomes prone to road debris, also my wife's is blizzard pearl white it's an 08 I've already received a letter in the mail that they'll take care of it
One year too old for my 07. It's got quite a few chips from the previous owner. I always wanted a white colored vehicle and after 5 vehicles I finally get one. Now wish I had gotten another color.

Ash blue mica on my 05. A good many chips on the front of the hood and grille area. I will touch them up and drive on. It is almost 15 years old with 165k. Paint does seem a little brittle.

FYI people I've already talked to Lexus about this they're not going to cover it if it's only rock chips only if the paint is peeling off more than half inch one more Rock chips are normal it happens,I don't think the paint on my 08 blizzard pearl white is any more brittle than any other pain I've ever encountered

s***! might as well claim insurance on that and have it repainted, then covered with 3m... that's gotta be over your deductible (if you have comprehensive that is). don't want to let that s*** go and let the rust set in
Mine looks the same but worse. I got paint quotes here in Boulder and they want something like $2000 to paint the fancy pearl white. Does the wrap just accentuate the areas where there's no paint? Mines a 2004. I stopped looking for options after getting 2 high quotes but would love to hear if people know good painters in the greater Denver area that could do it for half that (does that seem reasonable?)
