Also, I have a Cobra CB that needs tuning bad. I think it may need another ground and need to place the power box somewhere more permanent. Anyone have experience tuning CB's? Guessing a SWR meter is needed.

@CharlestonG8R - what size and length heat shrink? I have some up to 1/2" i think, and a heat gun (paint remover) / propane bottle if needed. Otherwise, Lowes has heatshrink in some smaller sizes, and there is a company on W Montague near the Colisium that carries it also - probably in larger sizes if necessary. Any of the elctrical supply houses or Grainger will have it also.

@TailsWCU - I have an SWR meter. (it was my dads) I havent used it yet, but should be fine.

Well, I'm glad yall have different sizes! I have different gauges of wire connecting, maybe we can just eyeball them and pick the right size? I think the largest wire is like 12ga and smallest is 20ga...

OH, I've gotta redo the 80's DS window before GSMTR! Did it once before, but I bought the cheap Chinese window regulator... I didn't heed the forum's advice on replacing the gaskets at the same time as the regulator... So, I have new gaskets and an OEM rebuilt motor. Easy work, though. Does anyone have heat shrinkable sleeves? Just curious, I was planning to buy some, but I've never installed them before and Napa said I'd have to buy their heat gun.

cigarette lighter works fine

Should've done the 80 window motor today with the nice weather... Not sure why the rear differential fill plug is seeping, I pulled the plug and the gasket was there and looked okay. Just curious, if the breather tube is clogged, could that cause the fill plug to leak? It's got a lot of moisture around it.

I mentioned on the ONSC thread (and posted a pic) that the fill plug was missing on the front diff on the 40. I planned to drain the oil and remove the cover to inspect and clean the difff... But there's no removable cover on the 40 front differential . So I figured I'd just drain it and refill it. Drain plug is stuck pretty good. SO... I just filled up the diff, installed a new fill plug, and did yard work. Any chance I could get a little lift time to drain and refill my axles? I picked up some differential plugs at the dealer, but ordered some more from Marlin Crawler. They should arrive this week. I'm primarily concerned about the transfer case fluid and identifying all of the leaks.

The good news is that the antifreeze leaks are all resolved!

Just give me a call in advance, unless we have something being serviced, i should be able to get you in any afternoon.. We can go late into the evening if necessary Wednesday - I just need to inform the :princess:. Tues & Thursday I have obligations. I normally start wrenching Fridays at noon...... unless I have a better offer.

I will already have the 62 on the lift and some parts removed if the weather holds this week.
Will be good to get this project underway.
If anyone need directions, let me know.
1462 Southwark St.
Mount Pleasant.
It will be good to see everyone.
If you need to wrench on your cruiser, bring it, there is plenty of room, just not on concrete.

Is there any club "business" to be discussed, and if yes, is there a set time to do so? Otherwise, tentative times for people to arrive?

The website and FB both have 9:00AM, but a reminder isn't a bad idea. I'm sure David will be started by the break of dawn. Any idea on how many are coming?

I will be there early with the 80, ready to work on some 62 axles!

FYI....for the website and FB events I put 9am for everything as a default so in the future if there is a specific time for events just let me know and I will adjust it.

Thanks!

Looks like rain is in the forecast for this weekend... Are we still on?

If we have to cancel I vote for beers somewhere.... Reds Icehouse on Shem Creek? Triangle Char Bar?

The rain will be in the afternoon on Saturday, so we might be able to play it by ear. Sunday is sunny all day.

We can meet at my house in the am, and if the weather turns, we can go eat or whatever.
I'm going to get started either way.
I just need to get it finished before GSMTR

I am planning to make this but have early afternoon commitment.

Happy to lend a hand wherever needed. Any specific tools needed that we may need more than one of?

Life got in the way and I was not able to order a harness for my aux lights, so I won't have a project for the 62 this weekend unless I can figure out what parts I would need to buy to put the harness together myself.

I'm planning on coming by regardless as I'd like to catch up with everyone and lend a hand where I can. I'm looking forward to seeing everyone again.

I have an afternoon commitment as well, but I'll be by in the morning! What time are we getting this party started? I assume 9AM since that's what Matt suggested. David, will you be up 'n at 'em?

Well, I'm 90% on the harness for my aux lights. I think everything else I need can be acquired locally; i'm still trying to figure that part out. I'm going to bring what i've got tomorrow and maybe someone can help me figure out the rest. No sweat off my back if this project doesn't get done for me this weekend.

See y'all around 0900 tomorrow.
