Do I want to replace my Dunlops with BFG AT KO2 - LT285/55R20 (1 Viewer)

I know the answer is yes, but what do you think on my truck? I have these Japanese / Middle East spec 20" Toyota OEM wheels. Do you think the BFGs will look ok given those rims?

I was not planning on putting ATs on this ride but got in a wreck last winter when it snowed and hit ice with the Dunlops. I pull enough boats in and out of slippery ramps, etc. to justify it.

I am not going to lift the ride or remove my running boards (which is what I have done on every SUV I ever got, starting with my 1st gen 4Runner I got in 1992, b/c my 8 year old has enough trouble getting in it.

It would be the same size (BFG AT KO2 - LT285/55R20) as on the SEMA LC below but without lift of course.

I'm not buying tires for the look but I think they'll look great on your rig and perform well too. I have the KO2's great tire good road manners, quiet and good traction off the pavement very happy with them.

Here are my KO2s I run in the summer on the stock LX 20” wheels. The perspective is odd (they look huge) as the summer wheels are out front, there is <1/4” differnace in diameter wetween the two. I can post a pic of my summer tires on the car in 2-4 week depending on how soon the ice melts.

Summer: KO2 275/55 R20
Winter: Nokian 285/60 R18

If I didn’t do a lot of off-roading I wouldn’t run the KO2s.

If you are going to an A/T to get better winter performance look the Nokian Rotiva AT. It is “snowflake” rated. The few guys I know that don’t switch to a dedicated winter tire use them.

I just got a set of these on Saturday, replaced the Nexen Rodian HP that came with mine. I really debated on getting the KO2's but got a great deal on the 5 including the spare of the Nokian Rotiiva AT 275/55/20 at a local shop for $120 ea installed. I've never had Nokian and wanted to try them. Discount Tire had the same size KO2 for $227 ea which I think is also a great price for that tire. From the few miles I've put on them so far they are silent on the Highway, feel solid and grippy. I should get to test them in snow at least once before Summer. I did go to Discount Tire and added the Road Hazard and lifetime rotation / balance on them for $27 per tire, really nice that Discount Tire does that even if you don't buy from them. Sidewall is pretty 'busy' but still looks good I think.

Nice I hope they work out, they look great. Nokian invented the snow tire and put more R&D into winter tires than anyone out there. I’ve used their snow tires for a long time. I’m planning on going to the rotiiva when my BFGs wear out.

I don't think so. I went to BFG's website and asked them when they are being released and they said July.

I have 30-40k on mine right now and rotated them once because it was losing traction. I am planning before next winter to get a new set if discount does its holiday deals again. I remember paying ~$450 for my 4 tires. I could be mistaken.

Just put a set of 275-60/20 BFG A/Ts on the new to me LX570, no rubbing.
