Do I belong here ?

My plans are still in the planning stages. Im definitely not going to tear everything out and drop a small block with an auto tranny in it. I want to keep it as original as possible. Right now I just can't wait to drive it.

The clutch master was shot when I bought it. I've ordered an "upgraded" master and slave from CCOT just to get it on the road, but apparently there is quite the wait. They told me today that it wont ship until the 24th. The other things I've ordered include new oil filters, fuel filter, and gaskets. I want to change all the fluids before I do much of anything. The only other thing I will need to get it on the road is a new turn signal switch. The threaded hole where the shifter shaft threads into is stripped out. I haven't found a great source for these yet.

Great looking rig man.
I'd say you belong here. Corrugated is pretty much a sure sign.

Mark's offroad was very helpful in setting me up with a conversion plate that you can bolt a newer style master to. I have no desire for discs, as the 8 piston system stop just fine when it's working properly. However, having all those pistons on one line seemed foolhardy to me (particularly the first time a piston failed). A two line sytem is an easy affordable way to make your brakes better. I also found that the pistons are well made from the factory, and that a 17 cent rubber piece was all that was needed to bring mine back to life.
I don't have much use for CCOT. They are a good source if you're working on a 78, but not so much for a 60's model, and they won't know the difference, or care when you tell them that. Just my experience.

3jvj do you have pictures or details on this brake conversion. Want to do the same thing and go to a dual MC.

I don't. I have collected all the parts, but haven't tackled it yet. Mine are working fine, and it's easier to do when I'm painting it (I'll have the body off to run the lines).

The only hold up I've heard about is the change in the size of the threaded nut that goes into the piston itself. As I plan to use the old lines and just change the end on the cylinder, I don't see it as too much of a problem.

As for the lines themselves, toyota just kept adding t's to get from a to b, so separating the front and back should be as easy as capping the front right t.

I'll do an extensive write up when I do it, but It'll be summer before I get into it. It's currently waiting on a massive engine deal. I blew something and am reading 0 on the number five cylinder. I have a new motor ready, just haven't had time.
