seeing that im kinda green in the LC world, could someoe explain to me the function of the infamous dizzy? so far ive deducted that if you even look at it cross eyed on a tuesday, your fj will magically turn to s***...:hmm:

dizzy = distributor
 
so

So it distributes the electricity in the form of a spark to the right (correct) cylinder when said cylinder is in the stage of its cycle (compression) to ignite the fuel mixture. It is connected to a gear on the camshaft that lets it know which cylinder is ready for the spark!! Its truly amazing.

And if its an aussie dizzy, its spins the other way, needs constant attention to adjust the point gaps and is generally replaced by something more 1980's..... grrrr i hate points!
