Hi all,

I thought I would share this mode for the LC 100 Series. Appreciate the look is not for everyone but the upgrade is pretty easy. The LED's are a good safety feature for those wanting to run during the day. My 98 LC did not have daytime running lights and I wanted something that slightly modernised the car and provided better visibility.

The upgrade is easy with only a few items and in total cost me approx $60NZD all up.

BoM:

  1. Automotive Mesh
  2. LED Lights 18mm from AliExpress (I bought 30 so I had backup)
  3. 9 LED lights for each side was my number - add or subtract on your own look
  4. Solder, shrink wrap, grease for sleeve of electrics to keep out water
  5. Hot glue gun or adhesive sealant to keep secure (not essential but I did)

  • Take your time, measure up using the old lights
  • Cut template and ensure the mesh is level or the holes will be off line when you cut out for LED's
  • Mark with a pen where the lights are going to go before cutting - and do both sides together so they align and match up.
  • ***Make sure you TEST lights work prior to wiring up***
  • Use cable tie to secure to car
  • Find appropriate wiring loom to power lights - My intent is to run an isolated switch back into the car.
