Cody,

Well, the truth is that my skills just weren't good enough to leave it showing. There were so many imperfections in the surface that I had to give it a skim coat of bondo to smooth it out and make it look nice.

That might be your opinion, but if I had done something like that, I would certainly show it off! It could look like crap and I'd still be like "Hey look, I made this thing out of carbon fiber! Cool!"

Loove the write up on the carbon fiber snorkel. Now as for your cruiser. Love its look. Rust free 60 is a rare thing here in Vancouver. How many 60s do you see in Arizona that are in good shape and rust free?

Haryv,

There are plenty of rust free 60's down here. They usually have over 200K miles on them, but the bodies are almost always in great shape. Most of them go for around $2500 to $4500 depending on mileage and interior condition.

I believe you would have to have to run a hose to the passenger side fender well over to the intake of your factory air cleaner. Or you could run a late 80 series air cleaner and then fabricate an adapter for your carburator intake to run a hose into from the 80 series air cleaner.

Do a search for 60 series snorkel install, there should be plenty of info on this.

Thank you for creating this thread. This has been super helpful. I guess it’s time to learn to use carbon fiber….. What wall thickness is needed with carbon fiber to support hose clamps and a pre cleaner?
