I have the modular front, part of me wishes I knew and waited for the newest 1 peice! Looks good!

I’ve had mine installed for couple of
months now. Maybe I could help answer the questions some of you have regarding the front bumper.
I ordered around Black Friday and had to wait 8 months to receive my bumper. It’s a ridiculously long wait but it is what it is with a specialized product like Dissent. For those of you that like the look, now is the time to get it as they have a couple in stock.
Control arms, axles and steering rack are not exposed anymore than they are with any other bumper.
Weight of this steel bumper is only 80lbs. The additional weight is not huge as the OEM bumper AND the crash bar will need to be removed. I can weigh them if anyone is interested.
I have installed a few bumpers in the past and this is probably the easiest install of them all. You’ll have to cut off the horns though, just like you would have to do for an ARB bumper.
Couple of things to note are
1. HF Apex badlands winch will not fit. Come up or a winch that is clockable will work. Some cutting of the grill will need to be done.
2. Baja Designs LP6 Pro will not fit on the bumper if you order one with the standard stinger. I had to mount them on the stinger using tubular mounts from Amazon.

Why? You don't like it?
I love it but I don’t mind swapping for the above 2 reasons I mentioned…..I like the look of the LP6 pro’s on the bumper rather than the stinger and also I could get away with Badlands winch.

FWIW we actually have a couple of the fronts in stock at the moment including one raw one strapped and ready toIf you have the front in stock that is raw with the stinger I will order today. Let me know.

Do you have one of the extreme clearance fronts with a stinger that is raw in stock? If so I will order today.

Damn, I wish I was rich….

I noticed that you guys are in Colfax. Cool! I’m in Folsom and it’s nice to see local businesses in California.

Any updates with your install ?

Would love to see the process!
Oh yeah, it's been done a while back. I'll try to post some tips here this weekend 👍

Here's a few tips for anyone on the ropes on purchasing this bumper: Install is super easy compared to what I've done in the past. Ben recommends taking off the grille, and so do I. If your grille is the same as mine, you'll want to touch it up with paint anyway (or, depending on your winch, may need to cut)

Next cut like all their other bumpers. It was easy for me to cut like shown in the picture and then play with the depth in the weld and wiggle them back and forth.

Once the frame is open, clean the sides so they're flush. Don't forget to remove any burrs - even the slightest burr will be a pain in the ass when putting this on (depending on your coating options, you may have tight tolerances)

Paint what you've cut and cleaned and then paint these areas below since they will become very obvious when you finish installing your bumper.

You can see where I taped off, don't need to go much higher unless you want to.

The whole back area here (shiny coat) will also help improve looks

Here's why you want to paint: Unless you trim, part of your body will show through the bumper.

Next: Dry mount your bumper a few times and get familiar with mounting it. If you go no winch, this part might be ok, any winch, you may need to cut and remove a few parts up front. I went with the comeup 12.5 and a relocation kit.

Hardware comes with brackets that you will use - no additional holes to drill anywhere which was nice!

Mount your winch and rotate anything you need to make sure you have clearance. I also recommend attaching the winch lights in advance if going with a winch since space will be tight once you mount it.

If I think of anything else, I'll be sure to add it, if not - if anyone has any questions or wants to see other photos of my set up, just DM or let me know - happy to help!

Awesome write up!

Great pointers on paint as this bumper, while very aesthetically pleasing, certainly exposes a 20 yo frame and components that weren’t regularly washed

I like the no drill mounting brackets. Any horizontal or vertical adjustment with the bumper? I really like that it’s 1 piece vs their modular offerings

Thanks again

You could also get with Jess Mooney on FB or somewhere here on mud and get you a tailgate spare tire bracket

There's shims that come with the bumper to make sure your spacing with the body is right. Mine needed 2/1 on the driver/passenger side. No horizontal adjustment, it fits tight with the frame and it feels solid.
