nice accomplishment, staying tuned to details (pics and videos) on ride and performance on, off road and rocks trails.

Looks great Derrick!

Man your 80 is looking super sweet Derrick. Where did you learn to bend tube? Any tips or tricks you have to share? I want to try and tackle a semi-exo but I'm scared ill end up with a pile of scrap tube and an empty pocket book.

Thanks! Luckily a good friend of mine has a nice garage(dedicated shop) which includes lots of nice tools, JD2 bender included, which he converted from manual to pneumatic. He did a little bending for his '71 Bronco before we tackled my 80. The key is to take your time and think things out for each difficult bend. Practice or test difficult bends with scrap pieces helped as well. My A pillars and the rear exo fender tubes that attach to the sliders were the most difficult and took a lot of time. There were some mistakes made, but lucky for me I didn't have to toss a single piece of tube. The worst mistake was mis-measuring the height of the roll cage. salvaged by cutting/sleeving/adding spacer/welding. Another tip was having 2 people working together on the longer pieces of tube. The 2" is some beefy tube.
Good luck!

Derrick

After more than a 2 year hibernation, Godzilla has been awakened! Fixing a few things and added some cross bars on the B & C pillars for some shoulder harnesses. This beast has found a new home so it will be leaving the nest soon. Although it hurts a bit to let this thing go, I am very excited to see the next chapter in its new life as the new owner takes this thing to the next level! Stay tuned....

So gotta ask, are you getting another Cruiser?

Bought a 2001 Hundy last week. I could never go cruiserless! :)

It's been a whole week and no pics??

I know, I'll post some up soon. Nothing special, just a stock Hundy, but it is pretty clean.

100's are awesome, congrats! plans??

Thanks Noah! No major plans as this is the wifey's daily driver. I do have a green light for a mild lift and some 33" AT's but it came with brand new 265/75/16 AT's so the 33's will have to wait till I wear these out.

Congrats brother! Look forward to the pics. :D

All of these Hundy converters are not helping with my urge to get one.

The last pic before I let it go........:crybaby:

That is a hard thing to do. I don't envy you there.

Wow, looks great. I would have a hard time letting that go, but I understand situations change.

It was definitely hard to let go, but it had just been sitting for 2 years and I didn't see any use in the near future so I knew it was time. I had so much fun pushing that rig to the extreme, both pre and post flop. It was amazing what I could make it do even when it was on 35s....these 80s are awesome I will always remember the fun places it took me. Glad I took lots of pics and videos...

You pushed yourself to the extreme as I recall driving it up to Surf n Turf right after you'd chopped it too!
