I have a 76 FJ40 with an original front and rear heater. I never need the heater and want to disconnect the water from running to it. Can I just cut and cap off where the water comes into the smaller hose from the larger hose near the bottom of the radiator? Any tips from someone who has disconnected heaters would be useful.

Thanks

You'll need to close the valve that is screwed into the head on the manifold side toward the firewall. Closing this valve will stop the flow to the heater. Cutting the hoses out are optional.

I cut mine off right where they come thru the firewall, stuck a big bolt in it and hose clamped it tight. No it ain't pretty but it's not a show truck either.
