Newbie here!!! I know, let's hear it... Looking for ideas on a disc conversion, fronts big priority, rears later. I have read most posts but seem to hit dead ends due to the year. TSM has a inexpensive solution for the rear but nothing as of yet for the front. Any ideas? :bang:

From what I understand, you'll have to replace your MC (master cylinder) and also do some work going from 9mm to 10mm lines. The other problem is that the MC is w/o a booster so you'll have to add in a booster or go with a manual MC- one without a booster. You can go with an extension bracket to clear the rigid brace next to the MC, but you might squeeze into the carb. I measured mine (a '69) and it's about 8" to the carb from the firewall. You can also trim the brace to fit a booster. All of this is on top of all the stuff you'll have to do with the calipers, knuckles, etc...

I'm thinking of doing the same thing one day and I've about decided to go with a manual MC set up from a Chevy s10, 80's corvette, or an 80's chevy truck.

If I'm wrong, please let me know. thanks, ty

Front
You have the pre 69' ball and claw front axel. It would be better to swap the axel for one with birfs. Try to find 76-78 that already has the disk brakes. That is what I did. Or find a 70'-75' and add the disks.

Rears
First thing is to find a 69' or later axel shafts. I found some for $50. It is a good upgrade from course to fine spline axle shafts. You can rebuild you rear brakes for ~ $100 Turn drums, new shoes, hone cylinders and put new cups in them. I dont mind having drums in the rear, just have to adujst them once a year.

Brake lines
You can get adaptors that allow you to screw a 9m brake line into the 10m hole in a newer axle.

Brake booster
Their is someone on this board named Mark A. his mud name is something like 65swb. Anyway he makes a bracket that bolts the booster to your firewall w/o cutting.

If you have any other questions about your 67' let me know. I have been where you are going.
Good luck
Albee

That's what I am looking for, thanks gentlemen.

Albee - when you do that, do you have alignment issues on the driveshaft with the newer axle?

Hendrix - we will be in touch.
