Pretty sure I already know the answer, but just being sure before I start rewireing.

On my bj74 my right hand headlight is dim. So I grabbed the old multimeter and started shooting wires. (I've already tried new bulbs and swapping the bulbs)

So here is where it ticked me off. I was shooting the wires with that plug undone, and it would be 24v on low and high. I was racking my brain... then I put a jumper on and plugged it into the bulb and I get 16...

Yea 24v free and 16v plugged in. My first thought is to just redo the ground but figured I would make sure before I go redoing wires.

Plug straight into the plug (no bulb)

Then here it is plugged into the bulb.

I may end up doing that. But that usually upgrade the wires for better bulbs or to get them all around better voltage. Mine has an issue with voltage drop when plugged into the bulb.
