I'm seeing a small water leak on the leading edge of my sunroof shade [only]. It is a very small leak and it looks like the water is running down the interior face of the glass then dripping down. There is no water anywhere else.

The pan is clear and the drain pipes and weep holes in the sills are unobstructed. I've tested with a hose and can't seem to replicate the problem. The gasket around the glass looks good, not cracked or brittle.

Ideas? Suggestions?

Truck is a 99 LC located in the PNW.

Cheers,
Chris

Glass gasket. Possible it's not centered or sitting too low, you can loosen and adjust slightly but more then likely it requires replacement after 18+ years.

Thanks for the part number. Does it fit all glass panels? I only ask as the part number seems to be for 2002 and up. Now that I know what I should be looking for....the parts diagram for a 1999 shows 63251-52020 but the diagram is really weird and only shows a part of a gasket. Anyone know if there is a significant difference? How many bananas is this job? Can it be replaced with the glass installed..perhaps in tilt/vent mode?

That thread was actually posted by @blklnamru . I remember pulling my sunroof by removing the black plastic trim and then removing the 10mm bolts if memory serves me correctly. My tilt and slide is seized solid though and I have no interest in repairing it as my wife hates the sun on her head.
I have not performed the gasket change yet but plan to soon. I have attempted adjusting in the opening and height adjustment but it still leaks.
I believe you can also buy the entire glass with the seal attached if you are not comfortable removing and gluing on the new seal.

The listing I posted I checked and it shows as fitting;

To close out the thread.. Leak wasn't caused by the seal (i bought one but didn't install-i'll save it for later).

The water was seeping in through the moulding attached to the glass. If you look at it from above, the moulding is cast as two pieces and has a seam in the center at the front and back of the glass panel. I was getting water through the gap at that seam. It doesn't look like much of a gap (if any, but if water is pooling on the glass or it is raining a lot, you'll get a fair bit of water penetrating and onto the glass surface (and filling the plastic covers under the glass.

The solution was a bit of waterproof silicone on each seam.

Thank you for sharing! I will try this as well before replacing the seal (which I also bought but have not replaced)

I had this problem about 18 months ago and checked with Beno to see if the gasket around the glass panel was available separately for a 1999. He told me it was not, and since the 100 was going to my brother to be used for a long time, I purchased a new glass panel, removed the plastic trim and 4 bolts and changed it out. Took about 15 minutes.

I’ve got a 99 with a leaky sunroof. I’m fairly certain it’s the gasket. Can you clarify, what’s the minimum amount of OEM stuff I have to buy to fix this, knowing you can’t buy the gasket separately? Any chance you remember the part number?
