I’ve got a 1976 FJ40 with a rusted out back half. However, I’ve got a line on a 1978 tub in good condition that will cost less to buy than the materials to fix the my ‘76 tub. Does anyone know if there will be any problems retro fitting a 1978 tub onto a 1976 vehicle?

It should bolt on. Spare tire will be different but easy enough to fix. If it is the tub that was on craigslist I would be surprised if it is still for sale.

The 78 has the brake/seat belt lights in the dash verses a bracket off the bottom of the dash. The welded shut cowl vent is no longer there if had a factory heater which all North American had.

This might help. According to SOR the rear floor board is the same for 1970 through 1978.

Would be no problems, I’ll go pick it up for rig... appreciate the lead.

“You’ll go pick it up for the rig....appreciate the lead.” Ha-what?
