Long time Owner of different land cruisers and was thinking about picking up a 200 series however I do not know of the changes between my 2008 to 2013. Could someone point me in the right direction or give me a run down. Different web sites say no siginificant differences in those years but i do not really buy that. Thanks so much for the help.

2010 and spend the extra $$$ on mods rather than pick up a 2013. I have read for hours and really can't delineate a significant difference between the two, other than the ambiguous "suspension changes," minor face lift, and amenities I don't really care about. One reference alluded to the 2013 having KDSS with extra travel, as well as an improved crawl control with multiterrain select. How does a 2010 stack up? Anything else? Are these really things that an experienced driver can't make up for on his own?

i would also be curious about the multi-terrain crawl. my '08 has only standard crawl, but even that can get novice drivers out of situations that would otherwise defeat their skills (that is once you figure out how to turn it on, as my wife would say). i personally have found that i can get unstuck faster by turning off the bells and whistles and really paying attention to what's happening at the four corners.

The multi=terrain crawl control is nice (it is separate from crawl, but selected with the same dial). In low range, it allows you to dial in the aggressiveness of the traction control. In the mud setting, it allows a lot more wheel-spin and gets progressively more aggressive in controlling wheel-spin as you change selections from there. I tested it on a muddy road in CO and could feel the differences between the settings.
I have not used the turn assist yet, but it seems like it must modulate the brakes much like steering brakes on old tractors I have driven.

2013 is the first year for cooled seats if those interest you.
Ha! I would like to say I am so much of a man that amenities like that don't interest me, but sadly I'm not.

I know what you mean. Cooled seats are sweet. If I ever replace my 80 series with a 200 it will have to have cooled seats period. I don't know why it took Toyota so long to include them in a 200?

That's the way models are described. Odd I'll grant you, but if you picked up the new updated model then you are the owner of what's classed as the 2013 model 200 series. You will just have to settled for being ahead of the times.

There was no 2012 model year for the LC200. Oddly, it went from 2011 to 2013.
