Is the height at your front and rear fender wells the same? Or is the front lower? Should they be the same?

In the "N" position, what is your height at front and rear? Somebody made some adjustments on my Torsion Bars and I need to know what you guys/gals with a standard setup (no suspension mods) measure. You can measure from edge of wheel, center of wheel, ground, etc to the bottom of the fender well. As long as I know where you measured from...

Rear of mine is much higher. like 2 inches more. But that cause I like the extra clearance. Should be about an inch different. With or without mods.

farinvail,

Would you take the time to measure the height for me? Please?

Gebo - Some truck info in your sig line would be helpful.

This FSM page originally posted by Uhu has the procedure and specs for the measurement.

FYI - FSM US Spec for a 98 is
Front: A-B 71mm
Rear : C-D 51mm

How do I crank the t-bars? (post #14 starts about AHC)

So if the measurement is greater then the spec, that means?

And thats saying the difference between the front mount of the lower control arm and the center of the hub?

adjusting the bars doesnt affect the actual ride height, you have to adjust the sensors.

Well, I was standing there while he adjusted the T-Bars and saw it adjust the height as he measured each side with a yard stick. By only turning the Adjusting Bolts on the T-Bars he was able to bring the Driver's Side up over 1 inch. My LX was off 1.5 inches from the front PS and DS and now it isn't. The only thing he turned was those bolts.

It's out of spec and you need to give the dealer your credit card! :D

It says to push or pull up on the body to see if you can bring it into spec. That seems to indicate that the body will often settle unevenly without indicating any problem.

It could indicate you need to inspect the suspension for a cause and adjust to spec prior to getting an alignment.

Front of mine. Hub center to wheel arch 21.5" Rear with a bunch of stuff in the trunk 23" I believe there is a thread on this posted earlier with more accurate measurements. My numbers are rough, coblestone driveway and it's kind of a slope.

This is exactly what I want! THank YOU! So it's about 1.5 inches lower in front than back. I have searched for hours trying to find the post you mention. I'm carrying a yard stick in my LX470 just looking for other LX's to measure. Pretty sick, huh?

go by the dealership and have them plug the scantool into your truck. It will read the AHC sensors and tell you how off, or not, it is.

I just paid Lexus $145 for a pre-sale check to make sure the LX was right and they found "nothing wrong." I've got the printout where they checked "everything." The only thing they found was the tires needed to be rotated. FYI, I have 3 new sensors (well, 2 months old)

That's why all I want is measurements. I'll figure out what to do after I do some comparisons.

Normaly, adjusting the T-Bars will affect the height until the next time you start the truck and the AHC adjusts itself again unless the T-bars were cranked so far the hydraulics are not carrying any load, but stock T-bars may not be able to achieve that. Have you compared the measurements again after the AHC has run? If it really has fixed it then maybe your sensor rods are disconnected, will it go into H?

There is 1/4" difference in height from front to rear. That's why I'm asking others for measurements. Is it supposed to be level (hey 1/4" if perfect for me) or is the front supposed to be 1 inch, 2 inches, etc lower than rear?

It works like a charm from N to L to H to L to N, etc. Moves quickly, no hesitation, etc. Got 10 graduations in fluid change from L to H.

Measured a 2004/05 LX470 tonight at the dealership. 19" front, 20.75" center of hub to fender.

I wish my nearest dealership were closer. Mine is a meal a away. Unless I eat an early lunch and a late supper.

Thanks!
