Hello all, i recently put 4.11's into my 60, and also had apart my t-case for a v8 conversion. i am noticing a whine-like noise @ 25 mph and up, only while accelerating, from under and towards the rear. What do you think, its not horrible, but if i can prevent wear i will. thanks, Chris

jack up the rear, make sure you are in 2wd and put her in gear. then go under the truck to listen

well if you take the driveshaft off you wont be able to tell if your problem is in the rear axle

I'd be a little scared crawling under my rig with the wheel jacked up and spinning. I would invest in a cheap remote microphone with a long cord, and I would tape it to whatever part of the drive train I wanted to listen to. Then connect the microphone to your favorite electronic recording device and go driving. If the first one you listen to isn't it, then tape it to another part of the drive train and repeat.
