I have a diff centre rebuilt for a 75 series, 37/9 4.11. Can anyone tell me what other year Landcruiser this will fit.. cheers

Can we have some more details? What year, what iteration of 75-series? Front or rear diff? It looks like @Hulsty is pretty close to the truth, a part cross reference on the diff assembly shows that a pre-1990 rear diff will fit 40, 60 and 70 series Cruisers from 1980-1989, and a 1990+ rear will fit 70 and 80 series through 2007 at least.

1994 rear diff centre. Are front and rear diffs interchangeable? Halsey says all but ratios differ .I know it won't fit 76 79 series and I'm pretty sure 80 series ratios are not 4.11. To say it will fit all is pretty far from the truth.

Different markets and options had different ratios, so definitely you will only be able to pair it with a 4.11 front; that said it will fit in any rear housing. Front came with a high pinion 8” from 1990 on, so yours will only work in the rear.

When I cross referenced the rear carrier assembly part numbers from the early 90’s it showed basically every model LandCruiser from 1990 to present; 70, 80, 100 and 200 series. Matching gear ratio to the front would be the only issue.

Yeah looks like you don't know anything. Keep in your stupid comments to yourself thanks.
Good way to introduce yourself to the group...

Yer? Got holeshead sayin all diffs fit from every year. If I didn't know better could have done some serious damage putting a 4.11 ratio into a 80 series.. Genuine knowledge is all I wanted, not bull****. Is everyone in the group priveledged with the knowledge of that peanut??? Great way to introduce me into your group cobber...Seems patrol people have more edecate than you lot.... get fkd yall....

Yeah nah, big difference between 4.10 and 4.11 hey...

On a more tech oriented note, 4.11 9.5 inch diff will fit front and rear on 40, 60, leaf sprung 70s, plus the rear of an 80/coil sprung 70 if you don't get bent out of shape with 4.1 vs 4.11

However, some FJ62 had 3.7 diffs, so in this instance obviously wouldn't work.

Furthermore, the V8 70s have 3.9 diffs (well, mine does anyway)

I ran a 4.11 front diff and a 4.10 rear (ex 80 series) on my hzj75. Never had an issue, never was going to have an issue.

I will be running the same in a 45-series build I am doing.

62 front, 70 rear.

Cheers

Me too. 80 series 4.10 rear, Nissan 4.11 front. IIRC the math works out much the same as a 1mm difference in tread depth front/back. If there's any 'serious damage' happening it's been very quiet about it for the ~20K km I've had those diffs in :D

You'd have even less chance of an issue in an 80 series with the centre diff to take up any difference.

Cheers
Clint

So, I could theoretically find a good used 60 diff centre and fit it in my hj75 diff housing? Front and back?
Are the standard 4.11 crown and pinions the same across 40, 60 and 70's too then? Spiders? Bearings?
