Diff oil capacity (1 Viewer)

Hey all just changing my diff oils and the front one alone has taken 2 litres just wondering how much oil is needed for a 1985 bj73 land cruiser

Im not sure what the number is.

Just keep putting oil in until it starts dribbling out the fill hole

They definitely take more than 2L

There is heaps of that info if you search. And if you have paid thousands for a landcruiser, why not spend $40 on a manual?

You also need a LSD oil for the rear diff if its an Australian model.

I think it is about 3L front 2.5L rear but that is from memory not the manual

You need 2.5 litres for each differential.

You just buy next size up to what you need and the left over can be used for top ups or just throw it in with the next change.
