Wesintl,

I currently use Stanadyne, but I am in the middle of building my own biodiesel processor to compensate for the insane price of diesel right now. You mention that additives may not be needed with the use of biodiesel, but I wonder if you can still use it anyway(additives), without it having a negative reaction to the bio?

We never run any additive when running bio, even when running 50/50 in the winter. Bio is really lubricating, and is one of the first things I noticed when running it, quieter engine.

I'm suprised no one said bio/veggie or b20. I don't think you need to run additive if you run b20 and up. right?

Oops, of course I forgot about that. Yes the lubrication properties of bio are superior. BUT, I would still run an additive to UP the cetane rating of the fuel, AND to help rumove any WATER that might have collected in there.

I'm running up to B80 at times, but still (probably more force of habit than anything) add a bit of Standyne. Doesn't seem to hurt, so I've assumed it helps.

(Red Herring - I'd be happy to change username Crushr to something distinctive if I could figure out how...doesn't seem to be an easy way to do this from User CP. Anyone know the secret?)

Not to hijack.. I thought the same thing at first... Damn, now i'm going to think he is wayne. There are other folks that have Greg_B, Greg B, Gregb, gregc, greg and the same thing with rick_d... Took me a while to distingush between them. Just Keep using a sig since it makes it easier on us.. that's my .02

Ya... I think your best bet is to e-mail Woody (or PM him here) and give him your prefered name. He can do it from admin. Look under "Member List" to find him.

Steve

You guys read the name? Heck I just look at the avatars. Of course when some one changes them... it takes me a while to figure out...

BTW...I use Howes.

Doesn't B20 have a higher cetane rating? I can never seem to find a stated cetane for bio... anyway how does additive help remove water? Isn't that what your water seperator is for? noob cetane and additive questions?

I've also got Stanadyne right now. Recommended by Valley Fuel Injection in Abbotsford when I was by this summer.

I hope it will last for the year as I don't think many folks here in Guatemala use conditioner (the gas station attendants always look at me kinda weird when I put in the conditioner).
