just did a diesel swap on my 87 Cruiser.

I remember reading a post on Mud saying don't do this unless you have a donor vehicle to swap it out (e.g. A rollover you can take all the components out of). I didnt quite understand the statement until I did my swap. None of the ancillary items on the engine were compatible (AC / Starter / Pumps / Piping / Electrics etc.), so basically I was sourcing EVERYTHING from scratch.

If you have a donor vehicle then you can steal all the plumbing and the starter and the wiring off the old vehicle. It will make your life infinitely easier.

Not sure if you got the D4-D engine in the US. But that was a hell of an engine. This article may help you it explains all the engines that came with the Hilux / Toyota Truck What is the best Toyota HiLux engine? - https://www.ridgebackbodies.com.au/what-is-the-best-toyota-hilux-engine/
