diesel fuel hose

I'm going thru all my lines and flex connections. Most of the Toyota parts have been discontinued. found some cracking so it's time to replace the flex lines for sure.

does anybody have a good quality brand name of "B1 fuel hose" they have used?

I got my replacement hose off mcmaster carr - very good quality made in USA hose - PN 54605K34. They have a range of sizes.

out of the 8x flex tube sections I can only find 2x of the still available

I have the suction tube coming and some extra hardware so I can drop the tank and replace all that stuff but... I don't really want to drop the tank 2x, 3x times. I have tried partsouq and amayama. I don't have access to the secret parts barrel out in the woods. sadly.

it would seem like a much easier route could be to source something decent domestically? So that is really the genesis of the question. I have no doubt the parts exist somewhere in the world; it's just paying to fly a little piece of rubber over the pacific.

Just because you looked up a bunch of part numbers doesn't mean they aren't available.

They are mostly all available through normal Toyota supply lines in the US. Just need to find yourself a competent Toyota parts professional to guide you through supersessions of PNs since your truck was manufactured 30+ years ago.

Probably not. Unless you become your own parts professional.

In OZ? You might have better luck with a Land Cruiser specialist shop like Don Kyatt.

Don Kyatt are great for aftermarket parts. Not sure they supply OEM?

Yea I have used their stuff for my T4R before it's good stuff.

I did a little reading on fuel hoses... because why the heck not it's facinating stuff.

On the Toyota hoses it has these specific markings

(GECO) - epichlorohydrin-ethylene oxide-allyl glycidyl ether copolymer rubbers
(NBR) - nitrile synthetic rubber
FKM - fluoroelastomer liner

the outer rubber layer of the hose is made from GECO
the intermediate layer is made from NBR
the inner most layer is @ least 1mm of FKM

SAE J30R14T1 also seems to meet this standard
Ultra-low permeation properties. Approved for use with leaded and unleaded gasoline, diesel, biodiesel, E85, methanol, ethanol and gasohol fuels.

SAE J30R14T1 seems to be the same as whatever Toyota specs for GECO,NBR,FKM on the low pressure return, vapor side for their desiel stuff. I did not have time to dig into the sucking side yet.

Good job on deciphering the alphabet soup. That was probably easier than finding a competent Toyota parts pro in the US. Best hose out there is marine grade diesel fuel line. Lots of letters and numbers blah blah, but much more stringent than the automotive industry. Just stirring the pot, a little. In the end, it really is just diesel rated fuel line. I get much better electrical wire from the marine world than anything Toyota manufactures too, but then it's not purist (elitist?) OEM is it? It's just better.

No such thing as diesel hose. Its all just fuel hose.

I just go to my local aftermarket parts store, they have numerous rolls of fuel hose you cut to length yourself. Easier than mucking around with part numbers.

I have used metric viton hose to plan future biodiesel succesfully, well for 4 years without a hiccup anyway.
Just measure the internal diameter of existing hose or the od of the metal barb hardline. But watch out for the very soft viton hose and o'rings,if you go that way, it can split easy and does not like sharp turns. There are different viton grades of hardness/firmness.

Many of the oem hoses can be made to contour match the original by threading coat hanger wire through the hose, shaping the curves and then submersing in nearly boiling water for 15 minutes or so.. Using the appropriate fuel, oil or water hose that is.

Also some hoses are specifically for pressure or vacuum, they are constructed differently.

I have done this with the power steer hose successfully. I guess radiator hoses would be a different story though, haven't tried them and probably wouldn't as they are under constant heat.
