Did the LX ever have an overhead sunglass holder?

While looking on eBay, I came across a 2000 LC that appears to have a sunglass holder. On my 2001 LX, it doesn't have a holder.

So I was wanting to know if any of the LX ever came with one and if so what year and has anyone ever install one?

I believe 03+ has the homelink+glasses holder combo. If I’m not mistaken, the headliner curvature is slightly different and the wiring is different as well. It’s doable but would require some work.

I know '06 LX does.

Dealer installed the drop down glasses holder on removal of my obsolete first gen (‘03) Lexus Link onboard communications panel, done in my driveway under a Lexus service campaign a number of years ago.

My ‘00 LX has homelink.

My ‘00 LX has homelink.
So does my 03 - just to clarify: Lexus Link is/was an on board, paid subscription based, cellular 2 way communication and safety system available in the US. The first gen, analog, systems became redundant years ago and the module was removed via service campaign and a drop down glasses holder was fitted in its place. I understand the newer gen system is still relevant. Home Link is the programmable 3 button garage door/Home Control system.

My 1998 LX has 3 little buttons and a red led in a removable panel forward of the moonroof controls.

I'm going to remove them and see if an S-POD will tuck nicely up there. Thinking it will.

I stopped using mine to hold my sunglasses as they can get extremely cold in the winter and just steam up when up put them on or they can get very hot in the summer and I think that might damage or warp the Oakleys.

My 00 Landcruiser has the glasses / square hole thing. At least did. I put my air compressor and locker switches there :)

My 2001 LX has 3 buttons that look like garage door openers there.

Some 06-07 LX have the sunglass holder in the front of the overhead panel. But some, as mine does, has the optional Lexus Link (think lexus version of Onstar) in its place. Kind of a bummer as I'm sure I'll never use the Lexus link, but I never have a place to put my sunglasses. I always have to put them next to the tcase shifter :/
