My Fj40 is almost road-ready again after a 6-month rebuild of the body. I noticed the clutch pedal is pretty close to the floor when engaged.I had a new clutch installed before the rebuild so it would have to be something related to the past 6 months it lay dormant. Do I just sart tearing clutch cylinders apart, flush the fluids or what ???

my hj does the same thing after sitting for a year.

i guess you could just try bleeding the system again, live with it, or adjust the pedal freeplay on the rod going from the pedal through the firewall, and the adjuster on the slave cylinder, see if that has an effect

As long as it fully disengages, I think you WANT it to engage fairly close to the floor. IIRC, 1 1/4 inches is the correct distance.

that's what i figured.
