Desperate! I own 81 series truck right hand drive diesel (from Japan) I have lost the ignition key! I spoke to lock smith who said there should be a code stamped into the door locks. Pulled the locks no number! Any suggestion(s) ???

so no code on your right door lock?Hiya all,
Just to follow up on the story for the record:
Since I could not find any code stamped on the steering column. I pulled the passenger (left) side door lock, and although there were a few numbers on it, none looked like a key code. I then pulled the Driver's (right) side door lock, and found a key code. So I think both JDM, and North American spec'd units have the key code on the Right hand door lock. Don't let "passenger side" throw you off on the right hand drive trucks. You will find it on the right side.
I then went to my local Lexus dealer (North Shore Lexus - North Vancouver) with door locks in hand hoping for the best. They were actually very helpful there, and fussed around for a while, and then said that they could possibly cut a key, but it would have to be done in Toronto, and there would be no guarantees. The cost would be 45.00 for a blank key, and 50.00 for the cut, so 95.00 total plus taxes, with no guarantee or refund if it did not work.
They gave me the name of a locksmith in Burnaby that they said may also do the job, so I headed over there and they were able to cut me one from the code for 40.00 plus taxes.
It worked fine, on both the door locks and ignition, so problem solved.
Thanks to all for the input!
Paul
