Does anyone know a trick/tip for taking a dent out of fiberglass? It's not cracked, just dented by homemade roof rack from PO.

Not much for tricks. Lets see apic. Re fibre glass inside and push out with somethin till hardened,of course grind a lil first.

Howdy! You can fill in the low spot with Bondo, but if you want to push the dent back out, good luck. I'd bet it look lots of years, weight, and heat to put the dent there. John

I agree John, I'm thinking of sanding a 2x6 to match the contour and propping it up from inside, then applying heat gun or maybe one or two of these 90* days outside would do it. My plan is to pull the roof and paint but my headliner is in great shape so I don't want to work the fiberglass from the inside......I think I need an old corvette guy:rolleyes:

How much is it actually dented in? Heat will help but you will probably need to coat it with bondo and icing. I'm working in my garage getting ready for a July 4th parade with my mustang tonight, but I'll try and find my plexiglass sanding blocks. They work better than anything I've tried for sanding something flat. Basicly, you use 3/8" thick sections ~ 16" in length x 1", 8" x 1" and 6" x 3" widths. Use double sided 3m tape to secure them so the overall thickness is 7/8" for the 2 long blocks. Rolls of sanding paper are 3" in length so you can get double the sanding using the 1" blocks. It will flatten in no time. Like I said give me a few hours and I'll post it here and in the paint section.
