So, when I press the front defroster button, the light on the button never lights up. I took my 2013 Land Cruiser to the dealer and they diagnosed it as being a bad A/C amplifier (what the eff is an A/C amplifier?). They ordered the part, put it in today, and said that while the computer is now getting a signal from the A/C amplifier, the defroster still isn't working. They are now suspecting a wiring problem.

This is not good.

Just went and tested mine (harsh 65 degree California winter), and it lights up.

Well that is what warranty is for. Hope it fixes it soon :)

Dealer has ordered a new head unit and put a call in to Toyota.

This is starting to piss me off. The dealer got the head unit in, and I brought the truck in on Friday, 1/8 for them to install it. They called me at noon to say that they were sent the wrong head unit, and have to reorder.

So far, that is three visits with no resolution. If they don't fix it next time, I'm going to have a sit down with the service manager.

It will be 5 visits before my BP-51's are right...and I'm still waiting... GRRRR

Yeah, but that is an aftermarket add-on and an independent shop. All I'm dealing with is the fricking OEM defroster and the dealer.

The dealer got in the new headunit and swears it is the correct part. So we try again on Friday.

Finally, the defroster is fixed. The dealer swapped out the headunit this morning. It took about an hour and a half.
